Welcome to Signature Alpacas

Signature Alpaca Stud was established in 2003 . The stud is in the middle of Merino wool country. The low humidity climate along with a wide range of native perennial grasses and large ranging areas provides an ideal environment for raising robust animals.

Signature alpacas is situated 33km south of the town of Condobolin  (80Km north of Forbes and 100km west of Parkes) in Central West NSW.

We are an MN3 rated property MN3 No. NA090105 for your security - we also have quarantine areas available for visiting unassessed animals.

White females from sound genetic backgrounds have proven to be a good solid base. Our genetics are slanted towards renown Highlander and El Dorado blood lines. To this mix we have added Yavari, Inti, Allin Capac, Winterbrook Prince John, Conquistador and Sonoma to enhance density and fineness.

We would like to introduce to you our newest Stud sire, Regal House Mr. Darcy who is co-owned with Regal House and Coolaroo Alpaca studs. Darcy is again an introduction of El Dorado and Yavari (accoyo) genes to enhance softness of handle, fibre micron and SD stability. We have already seen what Darcy can do in the ring as 2006 Supreme National Champion and his results at stud are proving to be no less impressive. To learn more about Darcy see our stud male section.

Our Aim

Our aim as a stud is to produce:

  • Stock that has sound conformation and excellent fertility and mothering ability.
  • A white and light fawn commercial fleece herd with an elite stud.
  • Increased fleece weight and uniformity
  • Micron average to less than 20 across the herd
  • A fleece weight on 18 month old animals to 8kg
  • Medullated fibre to  nil.

Our Commitment

We are committed to the alpaca industry and supporting new entrants to  alpaca ownership. This ongoing support is important to enable the industry to develop as an ethical, informed and sustainable natural fibre industry.

This is an exciting time to be involved in the alapca industry as we work rapidly towards commercialisation of fleece and exploring the wide range of products that alpaca fleece enhances from fabric to carpet and furnishings to bedding and knitwear.

Each year we hold husbandry and management days to introduce management techniques and help familiarise those interested in entering the industry with what is involved. We are also happy for you to come and join us for a day to get a feel for the handling and husbandry of alpacas on a one on one basis. We are a working farm so there is always something happening.

This is an opportunity to answer all those questions and get hands on with these beautiful animals.

This is also a chance to show off what we have achieved and some of the animals that we are now breeding and the stud animals that are producing them.

Visitors always welcome by appointment                                                                                                         MN3 No. NA090105
